Teens' Excessive Use of Texting, Social Media Linked to Risky Behavior. Annals Of The American Psychotherapy Association [serial online]. Winter2010 2010;13(4):8. Available from: Academic Search Complete, Ipswich, MA. Accessed November 1, 2011.

Is just one of the many articles i found in the library's database on my research paper about teens Texting habits.
This article looks at the contentions between the over use of popular technology and risky behavior seen in teens today. It is very relevant to my paper because it is directly on the same topic as mine and is more research and facts on my topic.

When writing my paper i believe i will find more then enough information to support my opinion that the amount that teens text is not the cause for other Major negative behavior problems. Most of the articles and my argument its self with use logos (logic) to make my point. I feel that most young people will agree with me that the problems most kids have are not cause by texting it is just simply another action in its self

Texting

Article 1-
1. I find the use of technology amazing but the fact that people still do not know how to do so and be polite or respectful at the same time.
2. Yes that some etiquette still apples with changing times
3.many articles have been written in newspapers or done in college studys on this
4.yes i believe i could write a full paper on this topic easily.

Article 2-
1.i feel that blaming how much a young person texts for other negative choices this person makes is not only ridiculous but just looking for a easy escape-goat for the actions this kids are choosing to do.
2. yes i could argue that texting is a separate action then the bad behaviors seen in teenagers and should not be seen as a cause.
3.there are thousands of studys done on teenagers behaviors and papers and articles looking at how so much technology is affecting young people.
4.yes

I choose to right my paper on the opinion that the amount of texting a teenager does might lead to thier bad behaviors. i feel this is beyond crazy and i will try and prove that.

Battle of the colleges

Our colleges were Ohio University Chillicothe and Paul Smiths College in New York.  Ouc is much more formal atmosphere with more class room centered study where PSC is more outdoors and interactive learning. Both are very small town schools and show pictures of their small campuses. But PSC is mainly a resort setting to theirs while Ouc is in the center of Chillicothe and has a urban setting.

I am completely behind the images and ideals the  "more then just dolls?" page promotes. The ideal that we grow up believing in order to be a popular and successful woman we must look like barbie is in my opinion insane no one is that perfect and the majority of us aren't even close. While yes i grew up with a million and one barbie dolls i can see where a young lady with a different mind set or lower, shaky self esteem might believe in order to get what she dreams of you have to be a size zero and this issues should get more attention to maybe stop this negative trend like eating disorders and depression in girls. Also yes i defiantly believe this problem is still going on today in the U.S you can see it in high schools across the country where every poster selling something has the perfect size 2 on it further grinding the ideal in to young girls. Just this past month a post has gone around facebook about this every growing problem.

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn't enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "
